I’ve finally reached the decision I need to move on from my current role but I don’t have a clue where to start. I’m a Partner in a Big4.
Should I be speaking with headhunters or recruiters? I know that headhunters typically approach individuals for roles whereas recruiters tend to advertise roles and candidates approach them (probably overly simplistic, I know) but as a senior and experienced professional is it ok to proactively approach headhunters for a conversation?
Ive been contacted by a handful of headhunters over the last year or so, some of whom I have spoken with but the roles weren’t right. Do you think it would be ok to contact them and ask for a chat to let them know I’m now more open to a move?
Would appreciate any advice from those in recruitment. It’s been over 20 years since I last looked for a job!
