Hi all posted a few days ago about a fantastic job opportunity, I went for my interview which went well. The position it management level which is a step up for me, the area I work in is niche, this is where my skills are key as the company have little experience in this.

I got a call today from HR as a courtesy call before the weekend to say they were really impressed and I interviewed well, they gels comfortable around me ... we spoke about the fact I will need some training with the management side of things .. policies / risk assessments ect but she didn't want to leave it before contacting me incase I started looking elsewhere. They have other interviews next week which now are booked in have to go ahead. Also spoke about not paying the top salary due to training needed (I expected this)..

Any HR people here think this sounds like I may be in for a chance? Or is this common practice to call back the following day? Thank in advance

I would say that sounds very promising, it’s the sort of call I might make to a preferred candidate to keep them warm and set expectations while we wrap up any other interviews.

That said, you never know whole they will meet with next week so I wouldn’t consider this 100% in the bag so would still apply for roles, attend interviews etc until you have a proper offer.

Good luck, hopefully the time you hear from them it will be with a job offer!

They liked you and want to keep you warm. I'd still be doing any other interviews you have booked, but I'd be expecting an offer. Well done!

It's sounds like there's a good chance you'll get the job - nice one!

Keep looking until that contract is signed though!
