Disseminating training for 30 mins - how long should it take me to create slides?

I recently went on a two day training course and now my manager has asked me to disseminate it into a 30 min session to the rest of my team.

(I wouldn’t have asked to go on the training if I’d known about this but that’s beside the point!)

I’m wondering how much time I should set aside to create the slides and script? I don’t have any of the trainer’s materials but I wouldn’t want to copy them anyway.

Yep, I'd set aside a morning or an afternoon to plan the presentation, create the slides and do a run through.

At least a full day. Build out your content structure, bringing it back to how this can be applied to current and future projects in your department. Keep slide content minimal, people can't process spoken words and written words at the same time. Then practice, practice, practice!

Make sure you clarify what your manager is expecting. There's no way a 30 minute session can replicate a 2 day course however good the session is. If he wants you to explain your new skills to the team so that they can know when to ask you for input, fair enough. If he wants you to upskill them to anything like your level, that's just not doable.
