Quitting a job and Universal Credit

Thinking of quitting my job (miserable for many reasons) but have not found another one yet. I am a single parent of a 5 year old and work part time, also receiving some UC.
Anyone else been in a similar position where they quit a job whilst on UC? Will they sanction me if I do this before finding a new role?

You do risk a sanction, it will only affect the standard allowance. It will depend on your claimant commitment and whether by leaving work voluntarily you are breaching the terms of your claim.

Do also bear in mind that it is often harder to get back into work than it is to move from one employer to another. Skills date. References date. People will wonder why you gave up a job without one to go to and think red flags....

Voluntarily leaving work always attracts a high level sanction regardless of your commitments
