@Gally123 - I totally agree! Im with you on that one it really isnt fair

TypoQueen1 · 01/12/2022 12:56

Is anyone clever enough to calculate the hourly rate? I made it £8.62 ph for the lower rate but I'm not very good at maths. 🙄

Whitestar55 · 05/12/2022 11:32

When you get your post containing the usual yearly diary/notebook, but not your cheque - oh the disappointment 😥

@Whitestar55 - I never know why they do not send together/at the same time to save on postage/envelope costs etc.

Wait! What?!?? That sounds more than I got from the NHS last year I worked in 2020
, cuz I worked from home

Whitestar55 · 05/12/2022 19:23

@Frazzledbynature 😂, yeah but the diary/notebook doesn't compensate for the eternal low rate of pay that apparently includes enough to cover holiday pay. NHS band 2 now starts at £20,000+ and you have to be band 4 level competent to get a contract with DICT8. Absolute joke now.

Received my new not book this morning. Not expecting my cheque until Thursday as I did send my invoice until 03/12/2022

danblack87 · 06/12/2022 02:17

I am going to send a message this week querying a 'pay rise' with Dict8 in regards to COL, inflation and increased bank interest rates + no pay increase per line since I started way back pre ?2014 ... wish me luck!!!

Whitestar55 · 06/12/2022 09:17

@danblack87 Wishing you good luck x 100 and thanks!

@danblack87 Even a bonus system like Tpro have would be helpful and definitely payment for the messages to the secretary.

There is that haha.
Mine arrived today a nice blue to write in book story projects. One day I hope I can earn more writing and selling books but in the meantime, I'll wait patiently.

Good luck @danblack87 I might get brave and do the same if I ever hear anything about my claim for carers allowance I can fall back on 6 weeks is up now but they add "could take longer" tick tock x

Gally123 · 06/12/2022 12:45

@Frazzledbynature - mine notebook is mauve - I wonder if the different colours mean anything? How long we have been typing for them? Our specialties (medical/surgical)?

Whitestar55 · 06/12/2022 12:49

@gally123 I reckon the colour of the notebooks is just random. Sorting them into specialties or length of sentence ...sorry.... service, would be extra work for someone.

Hi, I hope everyone is ok?

is there anyone else other than dict8 / tpro that anyone knows of

Chrissols · 06/12/2022 15:54

I got a mauve one yesterday, but no cheque (no surprise there).
Good luck @danblack87 , I think everyone will be grateful to hear the response you get 😐.
@Raisingboys22 have you tried your local hospital, I have loads of work coming from our local one and just complete in on the bank, an hourly rate rather than by line/character so much better.
I have agreed to go on contract for three days a week for 12 months and am just doing it from home so no different really, apart from decent pay, holiday pay, etc.
There is another company called NJC which is mainly typing up one to one interviews, they are usually looking from what I hear.

I have just sent my CV to Accuro today and asked for some info on pay and more details about them. Haven’t heard anything back from them yet Has anyone done work for them before?

TypoQueen1 · 06/12/2022 18:21

Jumping on this, anyone worked for Document Direct?

Do you know if NJC is good to work for, pay, flexible, quality of dictation etc?

TypoQueen1 · 07/12/2022 07:35

If Dict8 read this thread I wonder if they are worried that so many of us are looking for alternative work.

Lhoot1 · 07/12/2022 09:23

The amount of work ive had on recently is way more than i have ever had, been so strange recently

Gally123 · 07/12/2022 10:40

@TypoQueen1 they do read this thread and have, at least in the past, taken part under various names, which is why sometimes you have to be careful what you say, ie not give away any identifying features.

Maybe, plus I think they may be worried about the NHS offering remote employment for transcribers directly, which seems to be taking off (bring it on please!).

OP posts:
carosel2 · 07/12/2022 11:27

@Whitestar55 - id drop tpro and dict8 at a drop of a hat if I could do that, ive looked at my local nhs but they havent advertised anything like that so far

Lovemydaxie · 07/12/2022 13:17

@danblack87 have you had any response to you your email re a pay rise?

Chrissols · 07/12/2022 13:32

@carosel2 Have you approached your local NHS to enrol on the bank? that's how I got my remote working with them, and there seems to be more than plenty of it.
@Raisingboys22 the last I heard for NJS was 65p per minute of dictation, the dictation is always very clear one to one interviews.
