@Whitestar55 I think the only one recruiting that I know of at the moment are NJC - they are quite interesting to work for, a lot of one to one interviews etc.

Whitestar55 · 18/11/2022 10:59

@Chrissols Thanks x

@Chrissols Dict8 are still advertising on Indeed, new on again today.

@Whitestar55 yes, I meant apart from Dict8 as you actually already work for them. I'm not surprised they're are advertising as people will be leaving left right and centre with the poor pay.

Gally123 · 18/11/2022 12:55

@Whitestar55 when I first started we had to use the "note to doctor" for "diagnosis - same as before" etc, now it has been changed to "note to secretary" - that we have to amend ourselves as it comes up as "doctor". This seemed to happen when they took on the RTX hospital!!.

Also, I seem to remember having to sign an amended contract online when they did a system upgrade once - before you could log in you had to agree to new contract that included agreeing that the pay included holiday pay and sick pay etc, this was after the Uber drivers won their court case. I do not think it included anything in the notes box but as it was online I do not know how to access a copy of it.

Whitestar55 · 18/11/2022 13:02

@Chrissols I know what you meant and thanks again🙂 I agree transcribers are probably leaving due to poor pay and clients due to poor tech service.

@Chrissols had just came on to say i just saw dict8 on indeed cant believe it. my speciality has been ok so far but i have no been doing as much due to finding a job in a local hotel doing admin so that has been keeping me busy x

Whitestar55 · 18/11/2022 13:07

@Gally123 Thanks for that info. I couldn't remember what was in the new online contract. Includes holiday pay and sick pay - what a joke!

@Lhoot1 Welcome to the new thread. Hope you're enjoying the hotel admin job!

@Whitestar55 thanks so much, im only doing a couple of shifts a week at the moment but it has came prob at a good time i regards to dict8

Chrissols · 18/11/2022 14:13

@Lhoot1 Yes, I have taken on a very small NHS contract for steady income. It's working from home so not much different to doing this on Dict8, apart from I get holiday pay and sick pay, not that home workers ever take time off sick. It takes the pressure off as I know I am going to get a decent pay each month and can still do it in my pj's if I feel like it 😂

Lhoot1 · 18/11/2022 14:24

@Chrissols i am 2 minutes from my home over the hill so hardly any commute and only a small hotel and defo does take that pressure off. I’m still doin typing for ppm as well but feel that is pretty low the amount I get but it’s very interesting and different specialties. My daughter seems to be back 100% so gonna get her through exams then look to go back nhs full time I think.

Chrissols · 18/11/2022 14:58

@Lhoot1 I always said I would never go back to the NHS, but now it's home working its actually ok, no one breathing down your neck or handing orders out left right and centre, and the work gets done much more efficiently. It's just nice to know the money will be dropping into my account every month, and that I can take a holiday and still get paid (the biggest drawback of being self-employed). I am looking to move house, but can just take my nhs work with me now which is fab.

That's great! One of my local hospitals has started doing this, so I'm hoping more will follow, it's also a good way for them to solve the NHS office space and parking crises. Would be a relief to have NHS staff benefits again while WFH.

@Chrissols ive actually got an interview start of dec for an audio typist role from home with the nhs in dec so fingers crossed x

Lhoot1 · 21/11/2022 09:23

also logged into dict8 this morning as i have work from ppm to do and there is quite alot of work on so maybe we are turning a corner mostly old voices so wonder what was happening the past few weeks.

Chrissols · 21/11/2022 10:04

@Lhoot1 oh good luck, really hope you get it. It's really not different than working for Dict8 other than the pay is better, you get holiday pay, you're never having to refresh refresh refresh to find a task, a decent amount of money plops into your account every month without even having to do a tax return.......yep, pretty much the same really 😂😂😂

Lhoot1 · 21/11/2022 10:08

@Chrissols Ive worked for the nhs for 15 years gave up just after covid due to my daughter having issues and just generally being overworked but i was a senior secretary so to go back and just be audio typing with none of the other nonsense will be nice. We will see what happens got everything crossed.

Chrissols · 21/11/2022 11:06

@Lhoot1 You must have different specialities to me, not a single task on today every time I've looked so far today

Lhoot1 · 21/11/2022 11:50

@Chrissols mine dont seem to be any less but the time they are on for is not long there must be a few people doing my speciality but ive worked between two companies for 4 hours so im happy today. if only every day was like this

Chrissols · 21/11/2022 11:51

@Lhoot1 Yes, I've been working for a different company and NHS tomorrow and Wednesday so not complaining 😊

Lhoot1 · 21/11/2022 11:59

@Chrissols keeping busy is all i want.

Hi!
i have just applied to work for Dict8 and I also emailed T-pro to say I would be interested in working for them and if they have any positions and if they could send me some information

what attracted me to Dict8 was that you didn’t have to let them know how many hours you can work, due to me health I am unable to commit to set hours. Is T-pro also like this or do you have to give them hours?
