Management training courses

Has anybody been on a course you'd recommend?

Like many people I've been promoted based on technical skills, and the job automatically comes with managing people. I hate it and don't feel I'm good at it, so for the sake of my reportees I'd like to take some training. Things like how to motivate, how to have difficult conversations, how to handle different types of people.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Do your employers not offer any support or management training?

Nope. None of them have.

I’ve studied for a Chartered Management Institute Diploma - I’d recommend looking at their courses and qualifications.

I'm doing a Chartered Management Course too through work. Your work may be able to use a training provider to fund an apprenticeship. The training company my company use is Lifetime. Also there is a book The Little Big Book of Management Theories which is a good one to start with as it outlines everything!
