So after being a firefighter for 20 years, I relocated to a remote location. I had a job in the fire service lined up but due to budget constraints, my job offer was withdrawn so I had to desperately try and find something else as I had already bought my hew house.
I was lucky to get a job with the MOD which is the main employer in the area but i seen a job advertised as a whisky distiller which sounded amazing. I'm on a scottish island so I'm quite proud.
Back to shifts which I'm missing and double the salary! So I cheekily applied and got the job! My manager was amazing, he said it was his dream job and was so supportive. I put in 4 weeks notice but apparently I only need to give 2 weeks as I've only been there a couple of months.
I've had an awful week at work, my supervisor has been an absolute tosser since I put my notice in. I actually think he's jealous of my new job! I felt like walking out on Thursday but I need to wait till all my references and background checks are complete. I was asked to move and clear a full floor of heavy boxes on my own. My back was breaking! It was an impossible task, I wasn't to throw anything away even though they were all filled with junk. One had 10 crane straps in it which are 40kg each.I was absolutely raging. He's also taken me off the sea rota which is my job so I'm stuckon land for the next 3 weeks. And losing my sea allowance which is a lot of money.
As soon as my checks are done would IBU
to tell him he can ram his impossible jobs up his bum! He won't get the best of me as I'm a grafter but he barely even says hello in the morning now.
I can't wait to finish and start my new job.
