Grievances - Good & Not so Good outcomes please

I'm about to raise 3 grievances at work & i'd be very interested in all experiences others have had, good & bad.

Also like to know if you at or off work whilst it was going on.

Hey,mojo am going thru formal process regarding sexual harassment. I was off work for 8 weeks about 3 months ago. Gather as much support around you in terms of family and friends. As flowery says think about what outcome you want, tbh its been so stressful, i've cried buckets and colleagues are ignoring me as a result. It's still ongoing so i'll let you know the result... I was ordered off sick by my GP when I raised a sex discrim grievance (I was on PG number 8 in v stressful job with lots of travel, having had 7 previous m/cs).

Whole experience was very stressful and I only got through it all because I knew I was 100% right and had lots of good evidence (though it was not an outright certainty at the time that I would win). Even knowing I was right didn't help when I found out one or two people were lying to try to protect each other... and they do try to twist things.

I persudaed them to fold prior to a tribunal (this was more than 15 months after raising the grievance), because I had been offered another job (so financial outcome would have been limited had I won). Even on a compromise basis without a tribunal they gave me over a years' salary, and the right to agree a reference, and the right to see my personnel files (wherein I found that I had had an even stronger case than I had presumed!). HR director took me out to lunch and I found out soooooooo much about the company it was a real shock. And my boss got fired shortly afterwards (my case was only one of the problems they had with him, but boy, did I feel good about it).

BUT by god was it tough at the time.
