I started a new job. There was a grievance against my new boss and one employee seemed to leave with a pay off. This person leaving has caused great divisions and another person has now gone off in my team was covered my a note but now has gone AWOL. Another person in my team has now started saying they are stressed and when we asked another person to travel somewhere they said they couldn’t due to mental health issues. All these persons were close to the first person who left. I truly want to believe my staff if they go off but two of the leadership don’t seem to believe then and feel the person who left with the settlement is encouraging them to do the same. I am getting to the point myself where I am getting frustrated with the job as no matter what I seem to do in a managerial capacity- it feels like I’m fighting a losing battle. Anyone else had trends like this and how did you deal with it?
