Hi,
My OH has been in his job for 3 years. For most of that he was doing very well - good performance reviews/bonuses, told he was on track for promotion and he even won a company award for exceptional performance not long ago.
A few months ago it came to light he'd missed some important things on a project that he just didn't realise he needed to do due to his own inexperience in that area and poor senior oversight. The issues were fixed but it's been extremely stressful for OH, who feels he has let people down. He asked for feedback and is trying really hard but is now being micromanaged and a few weeks ago his boss said this wasn't the career for him, which upset him.
He now has awful anxiety about work and is having CBT. OH says his manager knows but doesn't care. His confidence has taken a big hit so he's started applying for more junior roles paying half his current salary. I don't think this will be good for his CV, his confidence, or our finances! I want to be supportive but also don't want him to act too hastily.
If anyone has any advice that would be appreciated. Thank you
