Caution

I have a caution for theft ( disagreement with family member over money owed which I took back and they called police) police basically had to end the situation and gave me the minimum which was a caution. This was 7 years ago. I have had to use my old DBS until my new one arrives at my new job which I'm currently working at. The thing is it will not be on my new one as after 6 years it's considered spent so I did not declare thinking new one would arrive in time, however I've been waiting nearly 3 months . I'm expecting manager to call me in to discuss and I'm feeling anxious. It's a new job and I love it. Any advice? Thanks guys ❤

Just to clarify, you are using a DBS from over seven years ago? Why didn’t you get a new one, I ordered one not that long ago and it couldn’t have taken more than ten days.

I don’t believe cautions / convictions become spent or drop off DBS unless they are youth convictions. If you ordered your own, you will see what yours looks like.

Your belief is wrong. Most adult cautions are removed from DBS checks after 6 years. Similarly, most adult convictions are removed after 11 years unless they result in a custodial sentence.

No if you read the post the offence was 7 years ago, the DBS is 2 years old, valid for 3 years. So will not be on new one

Would they not have just accepted the number to search, instead of seeing the actual paper copy ?

And? Do you think they all take exactly the same amount of time? I've just got my son's back which we applied for 5 weeks ago. It takes as long as it takes
