Anyone living in the north with a London employer?

If so, what do you do and how often do you have to go into London (presumably travel costs are paid)?

I have an NHS background up to senior management level but need a change!! Lots of transferable skills. Love to travel and London is a buzz for me! Really considering a change now the children are older.

My background is healthcare science/quality management/pharma QC.

Looking for ideas!! Any sort of roles that are remote with the odd trip to London (even if every week)?

I live in the north and work in London. I really hate it tbh. I thought it would be more manageable than it actually is. When I go to London the days are ridiculously long and exhausting and so expensive. My DC are still only little which makes it harder but I also imagined i would get the best of both worlds by being able to enjoy the buzz of London whilst living near my family but that's not reality. Staying overnight is prohibitively expensive too and staying with friends is not always easy. Having said all this I know other people don't find it so hard. A colleague of mine commutes from Newcastle every week and she doesn't mind. My current commitment is to be in the office two days a week but I'm trying to get away with less and make less more permanent. I'm actually not convinced it will be manageable even if I'm allowed to go down less tbh because of social events etc that I will inevitably have to miss out on.
