Supply chain program manager interview

MillieFTM · 08/10/2022 19:26

Just wondered if anyone had the above title or similar?
I have a job interview next week and not totally sure I understand the role!

I need to do a presentation on data needed for the role and KPIs I would put in place....

Thanks in advance!

Do you do a similar role already? If not how do you feel about the interview.

I don't work in this field (work in tech) but have worked with SCMs and have implemented systems which they would use.

Data should include performance metrics for suppliers. KPIs will be around the SLAs they should be meeting.

There will be lots more but hope this helps as a starter. It may also depend on industry.

Good luck.

Also programme manager suggests you will need solid PM skills with the ability to manage thr supply chain elements for several projects which make up the programme of works.

Why are you going for an interview for a role you don't understand?

to be a supply chain PM it is more than likely you will need supply chain qualifications - logistics/supply chain is a highly technical function.

Start with the job description and person spec.

Supply chain programme management will likely include

  • sourcing suppliers based on business need and company values
  • governance elements like making sure they offer the right level of information security, data protection adherence, environmental sustainability objectives, quality of provision
  • regular audits/due diligence
  • understanding of the legislative requirements - thinks like Modern Slavery Act and checking that suppliers are meeting those (think of Boohoo clothing and the issues they had with accusations of using suppliers who employed slave Labour in U.K. factories)
  • contract/SLA reviews and addressing any areas they are not meeting those SLAs
  • managing budgets and finding cost savings
  • managing purchase orders and invoices from suppliers to finance
