Mortgage advisor roles

So, I have worked historically in finance until I had my DS 11 years ago. I have worked in a high street bank in the branch, worked as a secured loan and insurance underwriter/team leader and as a mortgage underwriting supervisor. Total of 13 years experience. I have full Cemap. I currently work in a very low paid, school role. I am seriously considering leaving and applying for a mortgage advisor role….. my question is… are you a mortgage advisor currently and how is it these days? I am applying for two bank/bsoc roles that state they are mainly WFH.

My DH is a mortgage advisor and enquiries have, unsurprisingly, ramped up and he's been swamped. He's been WFH since the pandemic and hasn't really needed to go back into the office.

Have you done any refresher courses or industry research? I only ask because my DH left the industry for a few years a while back and a couple of banks wouldn't consider him for MA roles due to him not having 'current' experience, despite having his CeMap. This was a while back so am hoping things have changed.

Hopefully other mortgage advisors will post their recent experiences.

Good luck!
