Work problem

A colleague is leaving the company and I have been told I am expected to take on her role even though she worked 5 days and I work 3 which will cause problems for any urgent jobs that need doing on my days off as I know my other team members won't do the work.
I asked why another colleague who works 5 days could not take on the role and was told they didn't want to do it but neither do I.
I suffer with anxiety and I am already stressing about what work I will face after my days off 😟

I’d push back, like the other person did. Why can’t they split the role between you and the person who works 5 days? I’d suggest that, let them know that you don’t feel able to take the role on it’s in entirety when you only work part time and already have your own job to do. Don’t let them push it on you whilst others with more capacity just refuse

I think I'd have laughed and asked where they went to school, because at my primary school, 5 did not go into 3 without decimals !

Suggest as you work 3 days you’d like to be clear on expectations and priorities. Ask you manager to to send you an email detailing this and then if it’s too much push back explaining it’s not possible in 3 days and ask that they review. Make them do the work!
