Rage applied for a job and I've only gone and got a bloody interview

Rage applied for a job last week and the recruiter has been in touch this morning and I've an interview later today.

Any tips? I'll be suited and booted and I'm frantically researching the company.

Any ideas for good questions to ask at the end?

You know when you’ve had a shit day, or your boss is being a twat, and you think “well fuck you all, I’m leaving!!!!” and apply for another job not thinking anything will come from it….

I once dentist applied for a job then 😂

I was happy in my job, went to the dentist one friday afternoon and on the way out of the surgery, stopped briefly to look in the staff agency window next door. Saw something I liked, went in, spoke to the woman, she rang the guy at the company looking for staff, went up the road to his office for a chat, got offered the job on the spot.

Good luck.

I would only ask genuine questions you want/need to know. I’ve done lots of interviews and always hate it when interviewees ask some of the above suggested questions, especially if I’ve done a few that day. They are interviewing you not the other way round.

@RedRed20 do you hate the questions because they're generic "I Googled questions that I should ask the interviewer" type questions, or do you hate them because you feel it's too much of a role reversal (interviewee becoming the interviewer)?

I ask because I'm someone who asks 'awkward' questions at interview... in my last successful interview I asked why the previous person left, what the company culture was like, what typical month to month 'life' in the role looked like and the work/life balance, what the team I would be working with were like, etc.

I would agree that some of the questions proposed in the posts above are questions for the sake of it (e.g. "what qualities are you looking for" = a bit late if you have to ask now)!

However, I think interviews should be a two way process, it's not just about what a candidate can offer a company, it's also about what a company can offer a candidate... I feel two way dialogue at interview generally paves the way to a good fit for both parties and ensures that the candidate will commit in the long term (because they've ensured they're happy with the role/company), which must be a positive?

I’m two months into my rage job.

Applied for a pay rise at old job after finding out that new starters were practically on the same wage as me, and I’d been there several years and racked up experience. Felt really undervalued and not respected when got my pay rise refusal email.

Saw job advertised, applied and got an in interview. Got offered job and handed in my notice. Caused quite a stir when I left at old job. Still quite surprised how quick the transition was.

I'm a month into my rage job, applied 11 months ago but recruitment process took ages and I had to give 12 weeks notice, love my new job and colleagues so far.
