Copywriting

I've been doing copywriting since I began my career, for counsellors, campaigns, for charities, websites, and most recently for an advertising website, so writing up businesses, meeting with businesses to receive briefs and writing content that represents them well for customers.

I did the copywriting in my roles, which were varied, but did not have the title "copywriter".

My question is do I need a portfolio to apply for jobs that are specifically copywriting?

Is this a job I can get into without ever being employed as one previously, despite doing the type of work in other roles?

And finally, should I do a course, and if so, which one?

Thanks.

I lean my cv towards roles I want.
I’d add under job roles with copywriting experience.
min the cover letter I’d be quick to the point, I have copywriting experience here and here.

Have you thought of some freelance work to add to your cv and build your experience? You can upload profiles to fivver etc.
