Part time career

I need part time work due to lack of childcare help and need to support older relatives etc. I have a unique career path which means I'm highly qualified and specialised there are no other career choices. All advert are always full time, I recently welcomed seeing adverts with no working hours on the stating flexible working options inc job share. I didn't get the job sadly but now feel v depressed and excluded from future applications. A quick look on job adverts for my role least 30 out there and not 1 flexible hours or part time, I can't apply for any of them. 😞

You can apply, just state upfront that you would need to be PT.

If you’re perfect for the job (and particularly now when places are struggling to recruit) they might well consider you.

Do tell them when you apply though - I’ve sometimes seen it advised here to wait till a job is offered which (as a hiring manager) would piss me off no end.

Apply for the full time ones anyway and say you want part time? Both of my last jobs were advertised as f/t but took me on part time hours. It depends how desperate they are to recruit. Better to have someone part time than no one at all surely.

Thank you, I feel distraught about not getting the recent job application and honestly so upset. I've had interviews where they stopped and this lady looked at me firecly and said FT only. May try again one day

That does make sense, I'm currently an emotional wreck
