Bullying/Blocking Progression

Does anyone know the stages of making a complaint as work is blocking my progression upwards to become a Sergeant in the Met Police.....I have worked for 10 years and they are blocking me taking exams to move upwards....they are bullying me also....I am BAME and I would like any advice to get fast results as now I cannot sleep properly due to anxiety....the supervisors/sergeants who I need to complain to are trying to oust me by telling me I need to retrain after I have trained plenty of PC's who have progressed pass me. I know this is going to lead to legal advice but what are my first steps to take. Thank you in advance for any advice given or from anyone else who has been in this position...

The Police are crown servants and so much employment law does not apply to them. You would need to go to your Police Federation representatives for advice.

I can tell you one thing - whilst I am not a police officer I work with them closely and have friends who are former officers who have been subjected to bullying.... there will be no fast results. And I don't mean it will take months. Most everyone I know who has complained about bullying in the police have been managed out and it has taken years. Be prepared for a long fight and one which you may not win.

If you're in a union I'd start there - and read all police procedural documents on how to complain.

Police officers are not allowed by law to join a union. They have a staff association - the Police Federation. They can only join that.
