Full time work balance

I'm struggling to keep a balance of mum life and work, I work full time and have a 3 and 4 year old. Does anyone have any advice on keeping a good balance? Or ideas to still spend quality time with the little ones? Thank you!

Well, my solution was to go part time !

I suppose it depends on what you do / how many hours is 'full time' / how long your commute is / if you 'switch off' when you walk out of the door. Also if you are able to wfh.

Usual ideas are to throw money at it - get a cleaner is the usual response.
Absolutely would encourage anyone to, if they can afford it, but generally your time of life is not the time you can afford it.

People also suggest on-line shopping (though I like to see the things I am buying so not something I choose to do).

I suspect it is just a stage of life that is very very busy.

@mumlife124 did you find the balance you were looking for?

If you can afford to:

Cleaner
Gardener
Online deliveries
Amazon
M&S delivery pass (kids clothes)
Next delivery pass (everyone's clothes)
Robot hoover
Robot lawnmower
Batch cooking
Everything for the next morning out night before
Online admin for everything

Or as I did when all of that failed, husband becomes a stay at home dad

I definitely don’t have all the answers but a partner who is very 50/50 (if not more(!)) is definitely key for me. I couldn’t do it without DH. He also works full time.

I try and make the most of my lunch breaks whether in the office or wfh with life admin or random bits of shopping.

We have a fairly nice routine where we often have a busy Saturday and then have a relaxing family focused Sunday. We go to a church so that’s a nice constant in the week that helps us slow down a bit.

My DC aren’t school aged yet though. I’m foreseeing dropping some hours to allow time to help with homework after school as they get a bit older.
