Previous employer not paid me my holiday pay

I left my job last month. Line manager told me I would be paid remaining holiday entitlement next pay day (today)

I've not been paid? Can anyone think of why?

Really frustrating as it's a lot of money and 0 paid today

There is no good reason if they run a regular monthly payroll and have processed you as a Leaver already. You need to write immediately, cc the Payroll or HR manager, state the number of days holiday pay you are entitled to and ask them to confirm in writing that you will be paid accordingly the amount.

Do it right away so they haven't already done your P60.

Good luck!

@HeartofTeFiti I already got my P45 in the post

This will be very easily resolved. No drama needed.

drop them a line. Finance and your line manager.

”I have just noted that I have not been paid my remaining holiday entitlement, please could this be transferred as soon as possible”

As for “my line manager told me….”.
Irrelevant. Just refer to your contract

mountainsunsets · 25/08/2022 07:28

Did you have any holiday entitlement left if you've left halfway through a financial year (for example)?

My line manager said I'm owed 72 hours

Get in touch with payroll today and copy in your line manager, just be factual that you’re owed 72 hours holiday pay, it hasn’t been paid and can this be rectified asap.

CornishGem1975 · 25/08/2022 07:41

This happened to me. They actually just forgot to add it on. I mentioned it and they paid it the next month.

Iliketeaagain · 25/08/2022 07:52

It will be a payroll error, email payroll and copy in your old line manager and it will get sorted.

Factual email - "I was expecting to be paid for 72 hrs owed annual leave and it hasn't been sorted, please can this be rectified quickly as its having a financial impact on me this month"

Endlesslypatient82 · 25/08/2022 07:55

”my line manager told me…”
”my line manager said I had x entitlement…”

OP your employment contract was between you and your employer. Not your line manager. This is your money. This was your job. So own it and refer to your contract yourself and calculate your entitlement yourself - and progress with your employer. You were adult enough to get the job. Now be adult enough to get aid what you are owed.

mountainsunsets · 25/08/2022 07:59

What your line manager said is irrelevant really - they may have made a mistaken or calculated it wrong. It sounds like you don't know for certain what you're owed (if you're even owed anything).

Do the calculations yourself and send a factual email to HR saying you're owed x hours of holiday pay so could they please make sure you have it.

They may well come back with another email saying you're not actually owed anything.

I happened to me a few months ago. Payroll just forgot so they amended it the month after, even though I had already received my P45

happystory · 25/08/2022 10:24

What endlessly said, don't mention it's having a financial impact.

Windbeneathmybingowings · 25/08/2022 10:27

I’m waiting for this to happen to me after I just left a two bit company.
