Am I too old to apply for estate agent jobs?

I'm 45.

For various reasons due to controlling and abusive parents and an abusive first husband I was never allowed to do this when younger.

I would really love to work as an estate agent. It's always been my ideal job. There are a lot of jobs in this field currently available in my area. Would they just think it's bizarre that a 45 year old is applying though?

No brilliant idea. To be honest I would trust an estate agent in their 49s or over than a 22 year old telling me this house has all I'll ever need
