How long would you wait?

Applied for a band 7 nhs job that closed last Tuesday. Haven't heard anything, no update on the jobs portal since 'submitted'. Anyone familiar with Trac jobs and whether it will update if I'm unsuccessful?

I previously emailed the hiring manager to ask about flexible working, before applying. Would you enquire as to the application? Does it look naggy or just positively keen?

Really want the job!!

I applied for one that closed on the 31st. Finally heard yesterday. I was invited to book an interview slot - did so within seconds and there was only one slot available, so pretty sure I'm the only candidate they're interviewing and (given what it is) it's unlikely they had more than three or four applicants.

Shortlisting is often done by clinicians around other things. They're all busy. Half of them are on holiday. Keep checking Trac but don't be surprised if you don't hear for a while yet.

Thanks @Motorina Good luck to you!

I don't work in the nhs at current. It's a very specific admin/specialist role so I can't imaging there being many candidates.

Working outside the nhs I'm used to us advertising a job and shortlisting the next day. Better wait a bit longer before I enquire then.

Good luck for your interview.

Thank you!

And you.

It depends how many are shortlisting, it might be that one of them is on holiday or ill or this might have been done but the hold up is with the recruitment team to do their bit afterwards. You could always call the recruitment team and ask where in the process the vacancy is.

Still nothing on this! I can't believe how long it is taking to hear. Does anyone know, does trac jobs definitely update on the portal once you're unsuccessful of does it just stay at submitted?

Would rather just write it off in my head if it's not progressing

Do you want to work somewhere with such poor communication anyway?

Hellooo! I know it’s been a long time since you posted this.

what was the process with trac? Firstly I hope you were successful!
If you weren’t, did you hear?

I’m currently waiting to hear back about a job I applied for and it’s killing me with no updates.

thanks!
