I took a new job at the start of the year. Wasn’t what I thought. Was left continually on my own, was constantly copied into confidential emails from the accountants as my name is the same as the owners solicitor so I knew things weren’t going well and sadly, the owner died. Before she died, I left and took another job for financial security.
In this new job, which is a completely new environment for me, I have been faced with racism. Its a male dominated environment. 21 men and two women , me included. It’s making me really uncomfortable. I’ll not say exactly what has been said but this is both in front of and by management. There isn’t anyone for me to complain to. In fact, I know when I do, I’ll just be told to leave. I walked away the first time and was told it’s just us being us. There have been other incidents in places such as the canteen but then followed up by stares in my direction, sshhh and laughing.
So, I want to leave but how do I put this on my CV and what on earth, if I am lucky enough to get an interview, do I say. If I had enough money in the bank just to leave, I really would.
prior to this, I was with my employer for 14 years.
