I'm looking into what other care workers get paid per hour. Would you mind saying if you work in residential, nursing home, agency etc and the county you work in. Plus do you have qualifications like nvq's.
Me...
£10.50 per hour week days
£11.50 per hour weekend
Residential home for elderly (privately owned)
Wiltshire
No formal training only in house

My sister works as a care worker, nvq level 3 qualified for a privately owned care home with nursing. She gets paid £10.50 per hour. No increase for evenings, weekends or Bank Holidays. South coast.

Mydpisgrumpierthanyours · 11/08/2022 20:05

When I was a carer in the community I got different rates depending on when I worked. It worked out not much more than minimum wage but we did used to get paid think it was 20p per mile if we went out of area.

MarshaMelrose · 11/08/2022 20:07

We employ private carers.
£8 per half hour
£13 per hour

POTC · 11/08/2022 20:09

No weekend enhancement, I was working nights and getting 20p more ph than day staff, they were on minimum wage. That was sheltered living flats with private care company. Left 2 years ago.
Working directly for an individual using direct payments, 50p more than minimum wage.
Self employed through agency doing community care £10ph, £11ph on Sundays

Northernsoullover · 11/08/2022 20:12

My friend is a private carer and does week on week off and charges 15ph. Lives in..

Comii9 · 20/03/2023 16:53

I left nursing homes around 12 years ago.

I was paid £9.50 an hour. Bank Holiday we got a bit extra and I think nights was the same as day rate.

Applying for NHS was the best thing ever. There Sunday rate alone fills a massive gap. A lot of agency just do permanent nights because even in the NHS the day rate is quite low.

18ph plus 1/3 enhancement if working out of hours. Care home for adults with mental health difficulties.
