I'm currently on the sick from work due to Long Covid. My sick note has been extended today after a GP appointment. My main symptoms are horrible fatigue, nausea and I'm really struggling with the heat.
I don't think I can go back to my job; it's extremely full on, with long shifts (10+ hours is standard, with only 45mins for a break). I'm constantly on my feet and rushing around and I'm just not physically up to it at the moment. I also don't see that changing any time soon.
I had been planning to put my notice in before I caught Covid and now I'm not really sure where I stand. Can I put it in while on the sick? The notice period is one week which is shorter than my sick note. Due to the role, there's no way it can be adjusted to make it any less physically demanding.
Can anyone advise the best course of action, please?
