CIPD Level 3 or 5?

I have been working as an EA for 20 years and recently have been taking on some more basic HR admin just to vary my role a little.

My employer has offered for me to take a CIPD qualifications so I can take on more responsibility in this area but I keep saying Level 3 is if you do not have a degree, and I cannot work out why?

I went to uni, dropped out, now have significant admin experience.

Is Level 3 quite basic? Would it be worth going straight to Level 5?

I did level 3 about 10 years ago when I moved to the UK as I was told even with experience, my Aus qualifications wouldn't cut it.

I obviously knew all the syllabus, but for someone starting out in HR I thought it was general and informative and covered different areas of HR including recruitment and L&D.

If you want to move into HR I'd probably say go for the Level 5 if your company is paying for it and you have the time/energy to do it.
