I'm looking to escape a very safe public sector job into private sector. Likely to be a salary job and possible one role I've applied for is fixed term for 18 months. My thinking was it would get me experience in that business and a foot in the door. My worry is the living crisis. I need a better work life balance and currently I work shifts and its hard to change this. It's hard with young kids but my employer does do career breaks so I could potentially go back. What are the pros and cons of this please? Has anyone done a FTC and had a happy ending?
