Hi There,

So I'm currently still on maternity leave. I was working part time and the store where I worked closed down.Had a call to confirm have been relocated to same position in different store.I have not had any recent communication to confirm working hours etc as I need to do flexible hours and agree with the manager due to childcare etc and have mat leave for finishing in October.

Do I contact them directly or wait for the manager to contact me what do you think the best way to go is?

Also I hope they will honour flexible working hours.

They would usually assume you’d be returning to the same set hours and you would need to put in a flexible working request. This can take up to 3 months to be approved or refused so you will need to do this asap. You should look online for templates to help you write this if you’re unsure.

Have you submitted a formal request or was it through an informal chat? Not sure most retail (apologies if you’re not in retail) do flexi hours?

Hi Both,

I haven't actually confirmed anything as there was a manager in charge of redundancy's / re location of jobs who called me earlier this year in March time I worked before closed. I confirmed I would like to take this new position and said would still need to do set days etc working hours he said to discuss with the ma ager but should be fine and he would contact me.I signed a contract but haven't heard anything from the store manager I'm supposed to be working with or confirmation of the job which is odd.

Thanks both for the advice.
