Ideas for part-time remote work? (health issues)

Whitehorsegirl · 05/08/2022 16:52

I am looking for suggestions on how to look for a part-time roles that would allow me to work from home most of the time. I had to leave my last role in the field of mental health due to a combination of health issues and a traumatic event (assault).

I am having to accept that I physically and mentally I can only cope with a role which no longer involves frontline working and where I preferably would be at home most of the time.

Can anyone suggest roles/companies/sectors to look into?

As well as running mental health services/projects (which frankly I want to get away from considering the current state of the NHS and mental health services...) I also worked for charities for several years in communications, campaigns, marketing, fundraising, volunteer management and copywriting.

I am middle-aged now though and wonder whether an organisation will really want to hire me for a comms role when they can have a younger person who is probably more clued up about social media and online marketing.

Have a look on indeed and select ‘work from home’ roles. There is quite a few varied positions on there. Good luck!

@Twilightimmortal

I know! I am asking for the ideal but unfortunately I have little choice. I struggle now with being in noisy/crowded environment/public transport to the point of having panic attacks so unfortunately I have to be realistic and find something that can be done remotely.

Join the FB group/page "working from home network". There's tons of CS type roles but I don't know how flexible they are

90% office roles can now be remote. Just search for remote roles all over the UK. My job was bog standard office role 3years ago. I have now changed 4 jobs (temporary roles to permanent current one) and all were 100% WFH. I work in fintech and the whole company is remote (customer service, sales, finance, marketing, development etc).

We are actually looking for remote HR manager (100% WFH)

That must have been awful, I also experience assault when working in mental health so understand your reasoning 🌸

Admin in health research? Loads of companies like MRHA that I believe are very flexible and offer at least majority home working
