Which role should I apply for?

I have just seen two jobs advertised at a company I would love to work for! They are both similar but one is more senior. For the more junior position I tick all the boxes and am very confident I could do all aspects of the job, for the more senior role there are areas which I'm not so experienced in (or have no experience in) but I am familiar with them and would love the chance to gain experience in these areas and expand my skill set. Should I apply for the more senior position, even though I don't have experience in all areas they're asking for? I think I could bring a lot to the company but haven't interviewed for years and I think coming back to work after having a baby has given my confidence a bit of a wobble.

Apply for the more senior! The hiring team will likely be aware of the requirements for both roles and if they don’t think you are the right fit for that one, they could suggest that you apply for the junior role.

In your cover letter be sure to be enthusiastic about the company itself not just the role you are applying for.

Best of luck!

A man wouldn't doubt to apply for the more senior role if they didn't meet all criteria! So please do it!

Of course apply for the senior role. Let us know who you are getting on with it
