Spying veil threat

So a woman at work says that her husband in tech and It can put an icon on anyones email address if they know what the email address is.

How would I know if she has got him to do this to me. She is a nasty bully and the type of behaviour that I would expect from her.

What can I do to secure my emails?

That was quick!

Change your email address and forward everything onto that address?

MsFrenchie · 29/07/2022 15:35

Put an icon on? What do you mean by that?

Yes, they can probably set up a rule on their email so if you email them they see an icon next to it, but so what?

Jalisco · 29/07/2022 15:35

Good luck with her trying that.

pathstoanon · 29/07/2022 15:36

What if she has got my private info already?

Is there any way I can tell?

It sounded like she meant he could spy or hack in to emails if he had the emails address.

I highly doubt it to be honest

That’s not the case. Stop worrying about it. If you may have had your password compromised then change it.

pathstoanon · 29/07/2022 19:57

Yes I will change my passwords. Thanks all.

She sounds like a nasty bully if she has you worrying like this. She’s talking bollocks to scare you.

unfortunateevents · 01/08/2022 20:35

So this is an ex-colleague? Does she even have your personal email address?

Emm..

Send an email to someone (a dummy email you setup) saying how you cant believe that the bully's husband has not realised she has had multiple affairs....

Proof is if either contact her about it.

Op what you are describing is hacking.
The way most email hacks work is that they download spywear onto a device to gain a password.
Hacking a email provider with that type of software would be harder as the companies involved have systems to prevent this
