How do I word this email to a manager?

Good morning.

Sorry, I know it’s not an issue as such but I need help replying to an email from a manager who I am sure has sent an email to me in error.
I have a popular name, say ‘Jane Smith’ for example, and there are a few of us with the same name in our large organisation.
Normally, if this happens, I forward the email to the correct person when I see it’s something specifically detailed to them iyswim, but this is a new manager.

How do I word the email to tell her she has the wrong ‘Jane Smith’ ?
I know there must be an easy way to say it but the words aren’t getting there and it’s an urgent email.
Your help would be very much appreciated 💐

I’d just say “Hi, you’ve got the wrong Jane - there are a few of us - I’ve copied the Jane you’re after here.”

Forward to correct person copying in new manager, with a polite message saying this one is for your Jane, then highlight managers name and say easily done with so many of us on the system. If it is outlook they should be able to save the address they need. I often get emails where they have selected the wrong second name but they don’t check second name ( and outlook auto fills name) and just do the above

Or if you don’t know who it’s for just - Hi, I think this has been sent to me in error as I’m not involved in this project/ am not part of the payroll team/ whatever. Best, Jane.

If the email is sensitive you could add “I will delete the message”

'Hi, wrong Jane, not sure which one you want so haven't forwarded it on to anyone. Cheers. Jane'

Hi x, sorry but I think this message was sent to me on error, instead of Jane Smith in Accounts ...

Don't forward or copy in, you won't necessarily know which other one it was intended for.

I’ve done this myself, though the name in question happened to be rather unusual.
The person just wrote to me saying, “I think you have the wrong xx. I’m not working on this.” I wrote back apologising. He said,
”No probs, it happens quite often. You wouldn’t expect to find two xx in one place.” Job done.
