Hi,
Would love some advice on anyone in the know on redundancy pool rules.
I was put at risk of redundancy today and have been put into a pool (A) with 1 other person - 1 role available.
The other person in pool A has the same job title in the back end system but I was unofficially promoted to another role a few months ago. The people I work alongside in the promoted role are in another pool (B) which it feels more logical and fair for me to be part of.
The back story is I was offered a new job a few months ago and accepted a counter offer to stay. The counter offer was a payrise and promotion to the role in pool B but due to process/governance the change was not made in the back end so I'm in pool A with someone doing a more junior role and if I'm successful I'll be being overpaid for a more junior role.
Aware this is a good example of why you shouldn't bypass process but we are where we are!
Should I be in pool A because that's my official job title although it feels unfair on the other person and the role is not what I do in reality?
Or should I be in pool B with people doing my role but with a different job title in the system?
There's obviously a consultation period where I will raise these questions but I would appreciate different perspectives. Also worth mentioning they are similar roles, it's just pool B is the senior version eg Project Assistant and Project Manager.
Thank you!
