Too old?

I apply for my dream job passed the on line assessment made it too interview which I think went ok , I felt my passion and knowledge for the role came through although nervous Blush.

I received an email to advise I had passed the interview and been added to the talent pool so was feeling a bit hopeful (there is numerous positions).

I then checked my online status to be advised my application had been unsuccessful but they would actively check me against other positions, but I also noticed the same job role came up and I have been put forward for that?

I am not feeling too hopeful about that as the status against this application is the same as my original one after the interview which then went on to become unsuccessful?

I can't help feeling at 48 I am too old and I also can not understand why my original was unsuccessful but they have put me forward for the same role under a different job number?

I doubt you're too old with 20 years of employment ahead of you!

It may be that there was a better candidate who secured the first of the positions so you've been added to the list for the next one and the top X people will be assigned the roles in order

I think maybe none of us can tell you what's going on.

I don't know why you'd think you are too old - presumably they wouldn't have added you to the talent pool if they thought that, they could have just ignored you.

The reason you were unsuccessful last time was presumably that there was a better candidate, not that you weren't good. So if they want to put you forward for another vacancy then that's surely a good thing, and it's luck whether someone has applied who is better, or at least can do a better interview ...
