Sick pay

So I'm mental health has been in tatters and I went to the doctors and she signed me off for 4 weeks as she said I was not fit for work.
I do t get sick pay only ssp so my questions is
I get paid on the last day of every month I was signed off from 21st and got paid a full months wages

This month it will only be ssp but as I was paid a full week and then went off will they take this from my ssp????

Some info I've told is no there not aloud other is yes so I just wondered if anyone knew what was correct

Sorry, but yes, deductions can be made from SSP. Employers are advised not to, but in reality there is pretty much nothing that you could do about it if they did. Your best approach would be to contact the employer now, saying that you know there has been an overpayment, and could you repay it when you return to work or over a period of time. If you get in front of it you may be able to stop a larger deduction. Although payroll may have run already for this month, which may complicate it.
