Mortuary Makeup Artist- How do you become one?

I'm really interested in how do people become a beautician for the deceased? I think it's a job I would be very much interested in and willing to achieve and do. I love makeup however "normal" makeup artists are usually only required every weekend and that's no good to fit around my baby. Then I started thinking I could train to be a mortuary makeup artist as their will be a lot more weekday work opportunity and won't always be weekends.

I'm currently a care worker however I'm still only 24 and would like to try different things and as strange as this may come across I could see myself enjoying this job. I'm good with smells and I understand that this is an important job role, to the life lost and family's etc.

So does anybody have any experience or know what qualifications I need etc? Thank you for any feed back.

I don't have a clue what category this thread belongs in!

Maybe contact funeral parlours. But I'm guessing you would need to train
