Hi, I have a TA job interview next week. I am required to read a book to small group of year 2 children. What sort of books can I read? As they will be 6-7 year old so don't want to read too babyish. I was thinking 'tiger who came for tea' but thinking it might be too babyish for them. Any advice will be appreciated

Rosie's Walk
Anything by Julia Donaldson
Percy the Park Keeper
Dogger
Winnie the Witch
Keith the cat

Make sure you talk about the book before reading it: look at the cover for clues about the story, read the blurb etc.

Good luck!

Hi yes - that is too young really. I'm currently a TA in a year 2 class - you could try something like Rabbit and Bear books or The boy who flew dragons.

Make sure you have some specific questions to ask them about what you have read. Or get them to read it to you.

Good luck!

You should also be prepared to answer a question about safeguarding, confidentiality and conflict with a colleague
