Hi, So not to sure if anyone can help me.
my daughter started nursery yday and i didnt realised i had to pay £550 upfront. so had to ring my dad and he lent it me as im single. i also started back at work yday. so i added all the nursery details and costs to my universal credit claim and proved i paid the £550. then today my UC statement payment was available and it said childcare costs - £20

Does anybody know if i will get help with the £550 and will i be able to receive more than £20?
my Salary is only £704 a month working 2 days but will increase from sept to 3 days a week as my mum will have her on a friday.

TIA xx

UC pay in arrears for childcare and only pay for childcare that has taken place within your assessment period. If your statement was available today it sounds like your assessment period was 7th June - 6th July? So only the childcare between (and including) those dates will be paid this month. Anything after (and including) 7th July will be included in next month's statement

@LuluJo1020 ohh yes i get it now. thank you.
so if i get an invoice from nursery on the 1st of every month do i just upload it on the UC account?

Yep, I get mine a few days before the end of the month so just upload it straight away with a screenshot of the payment leaving my account. Then it's added to the payment for that assessment period.

They have a weird formula for working out how much they pay (some kind of daily average) so it's not always exactly 85% percent which is annoying if you need to know to budget

@LuluJo1020 oh yeh i will ask the nursery for the invoice few days before aswell and upload. halifax dont let screen shot so ill have to figure out another way. xx

They say bank statement but I'm not comfortable giving them that much information. You could do a bank statement printout and take a photo of it? Black out all the other transactions if you wanted.

They have been told that they can't ask for proof of payment but they're appealing it so, annoyingly, they can still ask until the appeal has gone through
