Reduction of hours

Hi hoping the lovely people of mumsnet can help! If I have a contract stating days & hours worked ie 6 hours on a Monday can they suddenly (no discussion or agreement from me) change it to 3 hours? We have a rota for the following week I didn't get it last week like we are meant to. I'm at work today ask for a copy of rota & can see reduced hours with no discussion? I've not had a chance to speak to my boss he has been in meetings since he came in. I was going to email to say I wanted a meeting with him & his boss about reduction of my hours? I have been doing the hours since 2013, been working there 10 years.

No they can’t change your hours without a discussion. If your contract is that specific they need to enter into discussions about a contract change.

Talk to them and see advice from ACAS.

yes if you have a contract for more hours than they are giving you they are breaking the contract
