Not sure how I feel, a year ago I would been delighted. But I have got such a good deal on my working hours since then and I am never going to be able to get that again

I am sorry. Are you sure that you wont be able to get another similar job? When are you finishing up because you are entitled to take time off for interviews etc?

MamaG · 16/01/2008 13:09

Sorry to hear that

Officially, I will be given my notice on 29th Feb, then will have 12 weeks gardening leave. I will have been there 15 years in April so should get 15 weeks pay for redundancy.

I should be able to get another job with the experience I have (I work in IT, hence the new name). BUT I had managed to change my contract to term time only and 3 days normal hours & 2 days short hours so that I can do the school pick-up. I will never be able to get that again

how disappointing for you

theITgirl · 16/01/2008 13:11

It is the working pattern I will miss, rather than the job

Possibly time for a career change

Oh poor you - real sympathies.

15 years as well - bloody hell.

A good thing that you have 3 months gardening leave to give yourself thinking time.

No advice because I don't know anything about it, but hopefully you will be able to get a pt job and negotiate some mpre favourable hours once through the door.

I am sure it will work out ok.

Very tempted to take a long holiday - maybe just do a couple of short term contracts till after the summer.
