Anyone know how long it takes? I’m waiting for dbs and I know this might take a while but my manager has provided references and I’m waiting for them to be accepted, anyone know how long it should take or how the process works? Thanks

It can be really really slow. I was offered a job in April and started in June and apparently that was 'quick'. I had to keep chasing. For me getting occ health sign off was slow as I have a disability but most people won't have those hoops to jump through.

ive heard it takes a while too, I can’t e believe how slow they actually are. I’ve not heard anything from occupational health, is that something I have to do or will recruitment sort that

They should sort everything for you. It was over 3 years ago for me so I can't remember how it happened but I think recruitment spoke to the local occ health dept and then they contacted me with an appointment. They are snowed under where I work at the moment, presumably due to Covid/ long Covid/ burnout/ stress.

I emailed them and said I would take any cancellation appointment at short notice ti get seen quicker. I'd been made redundant so wasn't working which made it easier to drop everything.

Thanks @IdisagreeMrHochhauser
im not in a rush to start but it’s just really annoying. My current work know I have a knee job and are constantly asking if I have a date yet

It can take a few months but usually no longer than 6 weeks

It's not the recruitment team that are holding things up it's the DBS check itself. The company that process the check will have to get confirmation from police etc and for whatever reason sometimes that can just take ages. I was told once that if youve ever lived near London that can slow it down a lot.
