Interview while off with stress

In my previous thread I explained how a family member tried to take their life and it absolutely floored me, almost broke me, we had no idea. Was signed off for a month by doctor. I saw a job advertised and applied as it will be closer to home and I can be near to family member who needs support. I have an interview but very worried about whether current employer, who I have been with 8 years with no problems with sickness will be spiteful or disclose I am off with stress while attending interview. She will not be happy I'm leaving if I get the job. I haven't had a chance to talk to management as I've been off and I'm due back in 10 days. The new job is to start in .September .
Just need some advice. Thank you in advance

How would she be able to tell them you were off sick at the time of the interview unless somebody specifically tells her the interview date?

The new employer wouldn't take much notice of her anyway IMO. Don't worry.

Im sorry for your loss x

Sorry, you think your current employer will disclose thar you're off sick to the company you're interviewing with? How would they know unless the other company requests references where sick leave, including dates is often included.
Surely although you're signed off sick, it's more compassionate leave for grief than stress. It might be that a company would not want to employ someone off regularly for mental health reasons but I think everyone is understanding about short term compassionate leave. I really wouldn't worry about that.
I hope your interview goes well.

Just to follow up. Thank you for your kind words. I got the job and my manager was fine about a reference 😊
