Where do I go from here - work stress

Sorry this is long but want to give a bit of background:
Working in finance
Structure is usually 4 employees report into two supervisors. We all then report into our manager.
We have only had one supervisor (me) since late 2021 so I am supervisor to all 4 workers.
Manager left in January and hasnt been replaced yet. Managers work is being completed by me and a senior manager who has stepped down to help out.

Out of the 4 employees, the person who has been there the longest has been there for a year and 3 months. All are relatively new.

The problem is I am under so much pressure to keep everything going and meet all of our deliverables. The 4 employees have their own workload and I have to make sure they know what to do, answer their queries, make sure nothing is slipping. There are usually 2 supervisors to share this work and I am having to do it all now.

Understandably, with them being quite new they have lots to learn. Often though, it seems like they dont even do the easy simple things right. Things we do over and over again. I have to chase them and chase them to complete some tasks. Even when I set deadlines, they still dont complete these tasks.

One employee is so poor. Most of it seems like he just doesnt make an effort at all. I dont think he listens on calls at all. We had a call with one of his clients last week. After the call, I mentioned two very basic things that were discussed and he asked me 'what does this mean? Why not this way?' It was discussed on thr call so from this, I really think he dialled into the call but just didn't listen.

Its honestly causing me so much stress working with him. I'm micromanaging and I dont want to be that person.

I dont have the power to start disciplinary procedures. I've raised it with senior manager a number of times and he does nothing about it.

Im stressed, I've been sick for the last few weeks and am now off work sick with tonsillitis. I've only had this twice before at 2 very stressful times in my life. I ended up in hospital both times so really hoping this doesnt happen now.

I've now said I want to move to another department. Part of me thinks that its unfair though and that I am being forced out - I am good at my job but I'm being put under huge pressure with no support.

Should I just move, or is this something I should discuss with HR? This would mean going above senior managers head.

Please be kind - I am stressed and sick.
I do know it must be hard for the employees too and try to be as kind and patient with them as I can be.

To be honest, if you have no authority to go beyond repeatedly telling people how to do their job (over a year is enough time to have mastered a role) then I would move on. Your manager isn't going to change, and HR must realise that staff have not been replaced, so they aren't likely to do anything to replace them (which seems like the thing that you are most in need of).
