Making team meetings more engaging

Looking for some ideas on how to perk up our weekly team meetings. We meet for 15-30 minutes at the beginning of every week to go through our schedules for the week, also raise any issues and celebrate successes.

The trouble is, it’s just become really boring. We tend to just list a few items in our to-do lists while everyone switches off until it’s their turn - there’s no sharing of ideas or suggesting solutions, so it’s lost it’s way a bit. How can we make better use of our time? We’re all remote, so could consider some online tools to make the session a bit more meaningful. Would love to hear your ideas!
thanks

Try Mural - interactive whiteboard you can set up in advance. Virtual post its, move stuff around etc.

I don’t think interactive white boards or any tool will fix this. If the content is boring and no one wants to be there, it’s a deeper issue.

Can you say specifically what you would like to happen that you believe other people would find useful?

The other thing is send out a short survey monkey to ask them, but it will help if you know what you want.

Otherwise might be cutting to every fortnight or something. Pointless meetings are a horror.

Include everyone, not just the leadership

Ask everyone for one word temperature check about their workload and create a word cloud.

Make the updates really short - headlines only and set out a suggestion. Or even shorter, such as one positive thing that happened last week was...

Make a point of celebrating successes of others and thanking people.

We always start our meetings with a health and safety check in. A very short 2 to 3 mins which you can take turns doing.
