Job changes before I start!

I am starting a new job in a new company and between accepting the position and working out my notice at my old job there have been changes in strategy meaning my new job will now look different. I’m happy with the changes, but it does sound like a bigger/more senior job and to me the title reflects that too. They’ve said terms and conditions will remain the same etc and it’s just the focus that will be different.

I’m terrible at standing up for myself, and spotting when I need to…does this sound like something I need to raise in terms of reviewing pay??

I’ve had something similar, but firstly congratulations on your new role!

I’d ask them to provide a revised job description. Keep it all upbeat, positive and supportive etc, but get the JD. Then if the remit matches the assumption it’s larger scope, definitely discuss pay.

if it’s similar level of accountability etc then the job title change is likely to be good for you on the CV for future roles.

to help benchmark you can look at glassdoor, Reed etc for salary comparators.

Thanks @Heretochill that’s good advice, and something more concrete to go off in terms of expectations!
