Interview Presentation - out of my depth ??

I applied for a senior financial role in another company. I’m qualified and experienced, met the criteria and have been invited for an interview.

They’ve sent me the presentation required on a strategic level topic I’m not familiar with, and stipulated it needs to be a PowerPoint presentation- I’ve never used this before, it’s always excel and financial software.

Do I crash course it and cobble something together or is this job clearly not for me ?

Go for it! If you have the experience then your attitude will shine rather than the presentation. That is only 1, small part of the whole interview.

I had to do a presentation for a more senior role and also hadn't used powerpoint at that stage. I found some basic powerpoint type slides online and added the content and some pics. The slides had a tiny shark picture in the corner which I couldn't remove, so I have no idea what they though!

I go the job though!!!

If you don't get the job, ask for feedback afterwards. best of luck.

PowerPoint is v straightforward, have a look at on line tutorials but keep the slides clean and don’t attempt anything fancy .
research the topic on line- I like businessballs as a general guide.
give it a shot! It’s not like trying to learn excel pivot tables😉
nothing to lose

Do you use word? If so you will pick up PowerPoint very quickly. There’s lots of online tutorials too, a couple of hours will teach you that. Good luck!

PowerPoint is easy enough to grasp and I guess doing research for the topic they want to be presented will show you are able to learn new things. I would see that a challenge not a stumbling block!

Don't let this put you off. It is really easy to use once you have wrapped your head around it. Could you ask a friend/ colleague to explain it to you? Even easier than watching tutorials and it wouldn't take long.

If you know any teenagers, they’re usually good at PowerPoint presentations ime! Mine have used them at school/Uni etc.
