Applying for two jobs at the same company

Yes or no?

I’ve seen two jobs which I want to apply for but they are with the same company. Is there an issue with applying for two roles at the same time?

I don’t want to come across like I just want anything but I also believe I could do both jobs. It’s not a huge company and they are in the same department, so I think it would be noticed that I’ve applied for two positions.

Am I overthinking this?

I would apply once but say in a covering letter that you would be interested in discussing both.

Decide which one you prefer and apply for that one. If you apply for both, the prospective employer will make that decision for you. If you really don’t care which job you get, apply for both, and reference that in your cover letter.

What is the process - portal, application form, or covering letter and CV?

If portal, apply for both. If application form, apply for both. If CV & covering letter, apply once for both!

Basically, I woudl apply for both.

I don’t know if I have a preference, one is the same role as I do now and the other is very similar but slightly more strategic, so I think that would be more challenging, but my CV is definitely more tailored to the first position.

I will send CV and covering letter saying I am interested in both positions and see what happens.

Perhaps update your cv to show that you are capable of both in that case?
If I got an application saying "both please", but only tailored to one role, then I wouldn't even begin considering you for the other tbh

if we get applications from 1 candidate for more than 1 role, we try and only give them only 1 interview.

Ive seen it many Times as a hiring Manager. Noone thinks anything of it. Just call
The hr dept or talent team.

Apply for both, though we generally consider applicants for all similar roles anyway.
