Job offer told boss now all gone quiet angst

So I'm feeling a bit stressed out as I was offered a job a couple of weeks ago and the process is it's not unconditional till all references and checks are done by hr however it's within the same organisation so this should not be an issue. This does mean I've had to tell my current boss as they'll be asked for a reference before I get the unconditional offer. After initially seeming really keen and offering me the moon on a stick It's now all gone quiet and my new boss was going to ring me last week to chat through everything and I've not heard a thing . I don't want to hassle new boss as I've left a voicemail and an email but am starting to panic that they've changed their minds . Plus if they have It's going to be so awkward telling my current boss that I'm not leaving after all. Any tips or advice on how long I leave it?

I wouldn’t worry, if it’s anything like my place this can all take ages. It’s unlikely the job offer would be retracted so try not to worry

Do you have an official conditional offer? If so they can only withdraw it if you don't meet their requirements, so if your references don't check out or whatever.

I was offered a new job within our company in September last year, I am only just starting to do it now.

Internal processes seem to take even longer than starting in a new company!

I had this happen to me (a long time ago now) - it sucks and in my case it turns out I was being managed out (v corporate org and my face just didn't fit!) / I hope it's just admin dragging but I know how it feels to wonder what went wrong!

Good luck - hope it all goes smoothly Flowers

I think you're right it's probably just standard slow admin type stuff . Going to be weird being at work them knowing and me knowing im leaving though if it's a long process .

What does it say on NHS jobs/trac? Hr is very slow as you probably know so I wouldn’t panic,
